I attended a talk by Kirsten Saenz Tobey, co-founder and COO of Revolution Foods. She made the following recommendations to aspiring entrepreneurs:
- Be agile
- Be careful about team you build. i.e. hire slow and fire fast
- Wear comfortable shoes. i.e. take care of you self
Not sure that I agree with points made by Ms Tobey regarding aspiring entrepreneurs. It is nice to be agile, but more important to be consistent. It is important to be careful in building a team, but entrepreneurial efforts are long term if a strong team has been built it is a mistake not to allow people to learn from mistakes. The best way to take care of yourself is to take care of others first and they will take care of you. http://www.bobmaconbusiness.com
Hi Bob,
Thanks for your tips. Both of you are right. There are many more aspects of good practices. I don’t see them conflict with one another. So, I appreciate different perspectives.
